This month has been an incredible in so many ways. After the USA Yoga Championships in NYC, I flew to Prague to judge and demonstrate at their Yoga Championships. The buzz of being there was exhilarating with events such as being on Czech television, teaching the Czech yoga community and finally performing in the heart of a big city mall.
I then made my way to Zurich via Vienna, where pastries and coffee was my daily yoga for a few days. Well worth every bite and sip. Zurich, my birthplace welcomed me with snow (and more chocolate). I spent 5 days teaching and coaching the Swiss Competitors for their first ever Yoga Asana Championships.
Their open minds and hearts made the visit so special and uplifting. It is through coaching that I can see the students change so quickly, from posture improvements to increasing their already positive mental attitudes to a higher level.
My trip back to California was special as I had been gone for almost a month and the pull to be back at the purple palace was strong and necessary. The second I got back it was all about celebrating YOU. The students and teachers that took part of our 2013 Winter 60 day challenge.
The party was a wonderful turnout and what was most special this time is how many family members came to support their loved ones who took part in the challenge. A lot of you mentioned the sacrifice you had to take. Time away from your family in order to do and finish the challenge. This is exactly what the yoga teaches. HOW to take of yourselves so you can be there for every being around you.
The testimonials are always the most touching moments of the night. I will finish this post by sharing the challengers’ testimonials and by saying it is because of you BYMV has an incredible yoga family. Because of you, you inspire each and every new student to recognize how powerful and effective this yoga is. Because of you I am able to travel the world and share your stories, your love, your light.
“Every day I come here I’m inspired. We have such amazing teachers. This yoga has helped me say ‘YES’ to myself.”
– 60-day-challenger Esmeralda
“I have never met a more encouraging group of people. This is something for me. It can be vulnerable because people see you at your worst and your best. I feel loved and grateful. This practice creates attraction within yourself and around you… people notice.”
– 60-day-challenger Lisa
“This practice makes a difference in terms of interacting with people. When I am peaceful and centered, it’s a gift to myself and the world.”
– 60-day-challenger Claire
BYMV 60-Day Challenge PartyFinally, a big thank you to Jennifer Hohman, Beth Barnard, Amelia Bostrom and Priscila Migliorini for taking care of BYMV while I was away and to all the students who welcomed me home with gifts and a giant card. I am incredibly blessed to have an amazing BYMV family.
