Only two short years ago I took my very first Bikram yoga class. Thankfully it was with a friend who had a little experience with Bikram yoga in the past. The best piece of advice she gave me was “just breathe”….
Oh yes, my first class was everything but relaxing like any other yoga is supposed to make you feel. But it was great, beyond great. After the first class I knew for sure I am coming back tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. It’s safe to say I was hooked. I was hooked with the heat and the intenseness, that was what kept me going back. As time went on, I started to feel and appreciate this practice more than I ever did. More and more it become my meditation, something that teaches me to love, to be patient and to be happy from inside out.
I never knew I would teach yoga or anything. But I went to Teacher Training Fall 2014. It was one of the best decisions I made in my life. And I was ever so excited to start my second life with teaching Bikram yoga. Until this day I am grateful for every opportunity on the podium. Yes, my wonderful students, I do see you suffer on the podium and I see you working hard. Unfortunately I can’t turn off the heat but I can promise you a better life and health through this yoga practice. So trust the process and simply breathe!
